Welcome to Drag Racing in Estonia

Estonia hosts internationally open drag racing events under the authority of the Estonian Autosport Union (EAL). Foreign competitors are welcome to take part in national championship rounds, cup events and approved international races, provided all sporting, technical and administrative requirements are met.

Licences & Registration

To compete in Estonia you must hold:

  • A valid national competition licence

or

  • An FIA international licence, where required by the class.

Pre-registration is strongly recommended to avoid delays or problems on site.
Competitors should pre-enter via the official portal:

If online registration is not possible, pre-entry by email with the event organiser is also acceptable.
On-site registration is possible but not guaranteed and may be limited.

Technical & Safety Rules

All vehicles must comply with the Estonian Drag Racing Technical Regulations and the safety requirements applicable to their class and performance level.

Only vehicles that have passed mandatory technical inspection are allowed to compete.

Competition classes

Non-Estonian Championship (EMV) Street Car Cup Classes

  • Junior Bracket – Bracket class for cars. Intended for competitors aged 12–18.
    Run over 1/8 mile. Dial-in (elapsed time) range: 8.900–13.600 seconds. Class designation: J/BR.
  • Junior Dragster – Bracket class for dedicated dragsters. Intended for competitors aged 8–18. Run over 1/8 mile. Dial-in range: 7.900–13.600 seconds. Class designation: J/DR.
  • Pro ET – Bracket class for cars. Dial-in range: 9.000–14.999 seconds (1/8 mile equivalent: 5.750–9.600 seconds). Class designation: PET.
  • Street – Index class for street cars. Class index (fastest allowed ET): 13.900 seconds (1/8 mile: 8.880 seconds). Class designation: ST.
  • Street A – Index class for street cars. Class index: 12.900 seconds (1/8 mile: 8.230 seconds). Class designation: ST/A.
  • Street B – Index class for street cars. Class index: 11.900 seconds (1/8 mile: 7.600 seconds). Class designation: ST/B.
  • Super Street – Index class for street cars. Class index: 10.900 seconds (1/8 mile: 7.040 seconds). Class designation: SST.
  • Street Supercar – Index class for street cars. Class index: 10.000 seconds (1/8 mile: 6.440 seconds). Class designation: SSC.

Estonian Championship (EMV) Classes

  • Super Gas – Index class for cars. Class index: 9.900 seconds (1/8 mile: 6.350 seconds). Class designation: SG.
  • Super Comp – Heads-up index class for cars. Class index: 8.900 seconds (1/8 mile: 5.700 seconds). Class designation: SC.
  • Pro Street – Back-halfed bodied cars and tube chassis cars. Class index: 7.600 seconds (1/8 mile: 4.500 seconds). Class designation: PS.
  • Outlaw Extreme – Back-halfed bodied cars, tube chassis cars, dragsters, and Funny Cars. No engine, tire, or weight restrictions. Class index: 6.5 seconds (1/4 mile), 4.035 seconds (1/8 mile). Class designation: OL/X.
  • Top Doorslammer – 1/8 mile class. SFI 25.1 tube chassis bodied cars. Class index: 3.66 seconds. Class designation: TD.

Race Locations

Many major drag racing events in Estonia take place at Kiltsi Airfield, located in Kiltsi village, Lääne County, approximately 3–4 km southwest of Haapsalu, in western Estonia.

Haapsalu is the nearest town and offers accommodation, fuel stations, restaurants and other services for visiting teams.

Some events are held at other venues (e.g. Tartu region airfields). Always check the event-specific page for exact location details.

Important Notes for Visiting Competitors

  • Review the event page and supplementary regulations before arrival
  • Bring all required documents (licence, ID, vehicle documents)
  • Follow officials’ instructions and on-site safety rules at all times
